Shocking Video Shows Instant Law Enforcement Get Knifed in Surprise Attack
One ranking policeman that leaped to the help of a fellow officer that was assaulted by a knifeman received the King's Commendation for Bravery.
Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against 27-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he placed a weapon to the throat of his fellow officer Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown initiated the assault as the officers and their partner, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a motorist after a road collision in Whalley Range in summer 2023.
Brown stabbed and slashed the two Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster before PC Wolstencroft stunned him with a Taser.
"Officer knifed," PC Wolstencroft was heard to say over his radio.
Bodyworn and vehicle camera recording released by the police department revealed Brown, who was dressed in black with a hood up, approach to Sergeant Foster from behind with a blade extended.
He collided with the policeman who stumbled and went down to the ground, before Sgt Ansell intervened and tried to wrestle him to the pavement although being repeatedly struck with the knife.
Police Constable Wolstencroft drew his Taser and awaited a open target, ending the struggle to an finish.
Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "I need help on my neck here, I got knifed in the neck."
Sergeant Ansell received two open wounds to his throat and more cuts to his limbs and body, while Sergeant Foster received cut injuries.
Officials stated Sgt Foster employed his hands to stop his partner's hemorrhaging prior to medical personnel came.
The latest award arrives subsequent to the law enforcement team received internal Bravery Awards in October 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the regional union branch in April 2024.
They further earned a Area Courage Honor in summer 2024.
"The responses of each policeman in the end rescued themselves and meant no bystanders experienced any wounds."
Brown was given to an indefinite hospital order in early 2024, as stated by authorities.
