The American entrepreneur Rejects Tottenham Hotspur Buyout Proposal Following Expression of Interest
Daniel Levy directed Tottenham's relocation to the club's new home in the year 2019.
Innovative business leader Brooklyn Earick has dismissed making a formal takeover bid for the North London club.
The club had before “firmly declined” an informal expression of interest from a consortium spearheaded by the American last month and stated the club was unavailable for purchase.
However UK takeover and merger rules required that, having had an informal proposal declined, the interested parties needed to make an offer by late October or state they would not do so.
Confirmation of the choice was made in a release issued by the club to the London Stock Exchange, confirming the team is “ceased to be in an takeover phase.”
The entrepreneur shared an snapshot of the statement on social media, remarking: “I've had a privilege discussing with Tottenham Hotspur and the owners' delegates over the past few months.
“I maintain great respect for the organization, its executives, and its supporters, and wish them nothing but success.”
Spurs' leadership acknowledged the syndicate for its “positive engagement” in negotiations and for “respecting the clear position” of the owners that the club is not for sale.
Brooklyn Earick is a one-time music presenter who also was employed in spacecraft research for Nasa before establishing his technology firm, which concentrates on innovation, communications, sport and recreation.
Earick's proposal was the latest expression of interest rejected by the organization's leadership since the sudden departure of long-serving chairman Daniel Levy in last month.
In early fall, the team declined proposals from former Newcastle United shareholder Staveley's the investment firm and a syndicate headed by Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through Firehawk Holdings Limited.
Levy and his relatives hold about a significant stake of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an nearly 87 percent interest in the club.
He was the Premier League's longest-serving chairman and is estimated to have earned over £50 million during his almost quarter of a century in the role.
However he was also the target of ongoing dissent by Tottenham supporters, notably last term as domestic league results were unsatisfactory.
Tottenham claimed their initial silverware in seventeen years when they beat the Red Devils in the May continental decider.
